Awareness raising against intimate partner violence

Published: February 19, 2022

The project assesses the impacts of an awareness raising campaign focused on the benefits to the relationship between husband and wife of collaboration and refraining from violence. The campaign included group discussions about intimate partner violence, and each of the spouses were given a poster with the key messages and were asked to put it on the wall inside their home.

The policy question is whether the awareness raising campaigns typically used in programmes against intimate partner violence are effective.

We measure effects on actual intimate partner violence and acceptance of such violence through careful interviews with women to elicit their experiences on violence before and after the campaign.
